Every program is built on one conviction: people do not need to be fixed — they need the tools, platforms, and support to demonstrate what they are already capable of.
Our Social Inclusion pillar delivers four programs currently active in Yaoundé. Each program is community-led, free to access, and aligned to SDG 4, 5, and 8.
Modular vocational training aligned to market demand in Yaoundé — five modules from self-awareness to entrepreneurship, culminating in certification and internship placements. After-school tutoring, scholarships for qualifying orphans, and a Sponsorship Program allowing individuals to fund a child's training monthly.
A youth-led talk show, podcast series, and live discussion platform in Yaoundé. Each episode features career stories, community debates, and change-maker spotlights. A training ground for public speaking and media skills. Local businesses can sponsor episodes as a CSR activity.
Cohort-based leadership development covering active citizenship, public speaking, community project design, and peer mentoring. Graduates complete a capstone community project and join the Uthryve Youth Advisory Network. Kids Clubs and Book Clubs are embedded for ages 8–14.
Creative platforms — digital storytelling, visual arts, community journalism, and writing — for young people and orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) across school and community centre partnerships in Yaoundé. Includes plays, games, drawing, singing, educational tours, and Kids Book Clubs (ages 6+).
Orphanages continually struggle to provide food staples — rice, beans, flour, milk, sugar, salt — due to limited budgets and inconsistent support. BreadBasket mobilises individuals and communities to meet identified food needs in care centers across Yaoundé. Donations start from as little as 100 FCFA and go directly to purchasing food for children in care.
UpperRoom provides psychosocial support and counselling to orphans and vulnerable children while equipping non-professional caregivers with practical tools to support the children in their care. A counselling toolkit is being developed covering confidentiality, child protection principles, record keeping, and case studies for grief and trauma support.
First Response meets the health needs of children in care centers — from routine immunisations to emergency first aid — and equips caregivers with the knowledge and confidence to act when it matters most. We also source funding to cover medical costs for patients who cannot afford treatment.
Many orphanages face enormous daily challenges, and facility maintenance is often overlooked due to financial constraints. SafeHabitat provides renovation and maintenance services to care centers — fixing leaks, replacing roofs, installing lighting, building wheelchair ramps, and more. All work complies with international health and safety standards and MINATD requirements.
Practical money management, savings, and entrepreneurship skills for youth and women across Yaoundé — building economic resilience from the ground up. Financial Literacy is the Phase 3 expansion of the Social Inclusion pillar, designed to complement SkillUp Flo graduates moving into self-employment.
